About Jennifer L. Young

Jennifer L. Young joined Dughi, Hewit & Domalewski in May 2013 was named partner in January 2020.

She limits her practice exclusively to family law, including divorce, custody, parenting time, alimony, child support and payment of college expenses, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, adoption, domestic violence, premarital agreements, civil unions, and relocation out of state. Ms. Young also has extensive experience in both interlocutory and final matrimonial appeals. With clients from all over New Jersey, Ms. Young has experience appearing before judges in counties throughout the state.

Since 2015, Ms. Young has been a trained and court-approved family-court mediator, which enables her to provide the best possible advice and counsel to her divorcing clients. Often, her expertise helps both her clients and their opposing parties resolve concerns and reach amicable settlement agreements.

Ms. Young has been named as a “Rising Star” by New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine in both 2015 and 2019. The designation, which is given to less than 2.5 percent of New Jersey attorneys, recognizes the best attorneys in the state who are 40 years old or younger or have been practicing for 10 years or less.

An active contributor to the legal community, Ms. Young is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Section and the Appellate Practice Committee. She is co-chair of the Seton Hall Law School Relations Committee. In 2017, Ms. Young was appointed to serve a four-year term with the District XII Ethics Committee, which investigates ethics grievances and conducts hearings related to grievances. Since 2016, Ms. Young has served on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Union County.
