About William C. Moran, Jr.

William C. (Bill) Moran Jr. has spent years providing legal services to the communities of Southern Middlesex County N.J. and neighboring Mercer County. He is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Politics and a certificate in Princeton’s Special Program in American Civilization. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia and then served a one year clerkship to the Hon. Gerald T. Foley on the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. Immediately thereafter he entered private practice with the firm that is now Huff Moran & Orron.

His areas of practice include wills, trusts, estate planning and estate administration as well as all phases of probate and probate litigation. More recently he has developed a sub-specialty in handling the problems of the elderly including planning for long term care, powers of attorney, right to die issues and medicaid qualification. Bill has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (www.naela.com) for more than ten years. He also handles all phases of real estate matters and has represented numerous municipal agencies, including the Township of Cranbury for over 20 years, the East Brunswick Sewerage Authority for more than 10 years and the Monroe Township Utilities Authority for more than 30 years.

Currently, Bill serves as a Rule 1:40 mediator in the New Jersey Superior Court and is also acting as a mediator in insurance disputes arising out of Hurricane Sandy.

Bill has also been very active in service to his profession, having served as President of the New Brunswick Bar Association and as Chairman of the New Jersey State Bar Association Committee on Availability of Legal Services. He was also appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve first as a member, and then as Chairman of the Professional Ethics Committee for Middlesex County. Subsequently he was appointed as the first Chairman of the Fee Arbitration Committee for Middlesex County. He is a member of the Middlesex County, New Jersey and American Bar Associations.

All of this, however, has not left Bill without time to give back to the community. He has served as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Mercer County Community College and has taught numerous public education programs at local high schools and at the IBM Corporation. He has also taught a portion of the Skills Training program run by the Bar Association. He has been member of the Cranbury Lions Club and a charter member of the Jamesburg Knight’s of Columbus. But Bill takes most satisfaction in the charitable works he has done as the first Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Martin House Community for Justice Foundation, providing assistance to the inner city poor of Trenton, NJ and as a Trustee of the Lawrence Schacht Memorial Foundation providing help to medical or religious institutions.

Bill also serves as President of the Board of Trustees of Westlake Golf & Country Club, a 1,421 home community in Jackson.
