Eliana Aklepi is a litigation attorney handling passenger personal injury, sexual assault, and crewmember cases. Eliana prioritizes working closely with clients, ensuring their stories are heard. Eliana’s undergraduate degree from Drexel University allowed her to work with artists, helping them avoid exploitative contracts. This work sparked her desire to fight corporations with abusive labor practices. “People injured by the carelessness of others, particularly by large corporations, have the legal right to be made whole again. My clients’ stories fuel me to fight for their rights. This firm has the top-tier legal minds and the boundless empathy needed to win cases and make our clients whole again." Eliana received her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. In law school, she focused her studies on international law and labor. Her interest in maritime law stems from her work in Cardozo Law School’s Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention Clinic, the only law student-run clinic in the U.S. working on international human rights matters. In this clinic, she was able to target a multinational mining corporation committing human rights abuses against native tribes in Brazil and report them to the S.E.C. with a petition to cease funding. During law school, Eliana conducted an independent study on seafarers’ rights. Currently, Eliana is a New York City Bar Association’s International Human Rights Committee member. In her free time, Eliana likes to visit parks and museums.
