Prior to entering private practice, Ermel worked with the Franklin County Prosecutor's office for over 7 years, and was the head of the department's drug unit. Ermel is an Ohio native, raised in Athens County where he lived with his parents until the age of 18. He then moved to Oxford, OH to attend Miami University, where he was fortunate enough to meet his wife Jenny. Upon graduating, he began Law School at Case Western Reserve University, where he gained his Juris Doctorate in 1988. Following graduation, the Lucketts moved to Columbus, OH in 1989 to being his position with the Franklin County Prosecutor's office. Ermel and his wife of 25 years have maintained their residence in Franklin County where they raised their two sons.
