I hired Billy Barnes and his paralegal (and wife) Amy Fitzgerald for my divorce, and I cannot express strongly enough how devastatingly disappointed I am. Amy denied they were married, which was dishonest from the start. Billy gave up before walking into court. Despite me providing documented abuse, manipulation, and witnesses to protect my children, NONE of it was brought forward. They ignored evidence, silenced my witness, and asked my ex no meaningful questions. I felt abandoned. Billy once said, “I don’t like losing,” yet he didn’t even try. Later I learned Amy knew my ex’s lawyer — a conflict that explains much. Worse, they allowed imputed SSI income (illegal for the disabled) until the judge himself stopped it. Their lack of advocacy harmed my children and destroyed my case. I’d have done better representing myself. If you are a parent, disabled, or need real advocacy — avoid this office. Lazy, biased, and careless.
