Going through a divorce is emotionally, mentally and physically the worst thing I’ve went through in my life. You hire a lawyer who is understanding and competent to help you get through this hard time. I received the opposite services. Mrs. Benner was unprepared, not knowledgeable about court procedures and caused more emotional, mental and physical hurt during a time I needed a professional. Between the stress of getting an unwanted divorce and the stress Mrs. Benner caused in the process, I was unable to work and struggled daily. The only reason I was granted anything in my divorce after leaving my ex with everything besides a few belongs that I took for me was because of my mother. My mother put together all documentation for court, researched the law and policies as well as provided all emotional support during the process. I paid Mrs. Benner in full for her “lawyer degree” but would not recommend her to represent you during a horrible time unless you are prepared to feel worse
I will always feel guilty for referring my daughter to Tana Benner for her divorce. Tana was referred to me from a friend a few years ago that was satisfied with her work on her divorce. I wish I had taken to heart the reviews that other people left regarding her work. They are correct, she is a very pleasant person. Pleasant does not get you results in the courtroom. She is either very slow at communications or does not all. She turned in wrong paperwork and we did not get to review the paperwork (she had my daughter, who is a professional listed as a day care provider, at home). She came to court unprepared and had to get information for the judge from my daughter while in court. We did not find out many court dates and needed information. We had to find out from my daughter’s now ex-husband. She (Tana) did not obey filing deadlines that the Judge ordered! My daughter is out a lot of money while we had to do a lot of the work and watch dates ourselves.
