On August 7th, I received a letter from the law office saying they’re trying to collect debt $250 for homeowners association fees not paid on behalf of Water’s Edge homeowners association of Boone County. We own a house there that we rent out to somebody else. I called the law office and was transferred to voicemail of the lawyer listed on the statement. I left a message saying that I have not received the HOA statement and wondered if it was sent to tenant’s address instead of ours, and that I had no way of contacting the association as they’re not listed online and I do not have their contact information. I also sent an email to the law office listed on that letter. I have not heard anything back from them for a few weeks. Called again and left a voicemail as well as emailed again, in a few days I got a letter saying my fees have increased to $300. I emailed asking why balance due went up,I still don’t know what original amount due was, no answer for almost a week now.
