Kevin R. Hancock was born in San Antonio, Texas, at Wilfred Hall on Lackland Air Force Base, where his father served as a Staff Sergeant. Growing up in a military family, Kevin and his two brothers, Norman and Paul, lived in various places, including California, Texas, and Izmir, Turkey, before settling in Colorado Springs in 1987. There, the family lived on the United States Air Force Academy, and Kevin attended Pine Valley Elementary, Eagleview Middle School, and Air Academy High School. He participated in marching band, concert band, baseball, and Chamber Choir and was part of the 1994 Kadet Marching Band that won the 4A State title. Kevin met his wife, Kisa, in high school, and they started dating after graduation. They both attended the University of Wyoming, where Kevin earned a bachelor's degree in History with a focus on WWII Europe and a minor in American Indian Studies. He later attended Washburn University School of Law. Initially pursuing a career as a JAG officer, Kevin shifted his focus after being medically disqualified. He returned to Colorado Springs in 2005, starting his legal career and eventually focusing on estate planning. Kevin and Kisa have two children, Westin and Grace.
