James L. English is a law firm established in 1983 with an office in Colorado Springs, CO. At this office location, there is 1 lawyer practicing family law, child custody, child support and 4 other areas of law.
My experience with Mr. English was very positive and I was very pleased with his services. My emotions were running high due to the nature of my case but Mr. English kept me grounded and worked hard on my behalf. Mr. English was very thorough and had realistic expectations in regards to my case. Prior to retaining Mr. English, I interviewed 5 other attorneys. Most of the other attorneys I interviewed told me what I wanted to hear, they told me things that made me feel good, and how I was going to practically conquer the world. When I interviewed Mr. English, he didn’t try to sell me a bunch of hyped up, over inflated garbage; he calmly explained where I was at, where I needed to go, and how he would help get me there. Each time I appeared in court, Mr. English was well respected by the presiding judge and had respect by the opposing council. This was huge because when Mr. English spoke, everyone listened and respected what he had to say, and knew he was not overreaching or off base with statements or using smoke and mirrors to try to win the case. I am very grateful to have retained Mr. English and highly recommend his services.
My situation was 'not ordinary', but then again, who's is? I was Active Duty Army deployed to Afghanistan when I first spoke with and hired Mr. English. He heard my case and gave me upfront and honest opinions and answers. Some that I wanted to hear and some that I didn't. Either way, I retained his services and then finally met with him in person while home on R&R. He knew that I didn't have much time while on leave and hurried my case as much as he could. Everything was completed as expected.
Mr. English helped me to obtain custody of my young son. I went from a
hopeless situation to where I had complete custody. He always made time to talk with me whenever I had a problem, and never failed to come through in the court room when we had a hearing. I can't say how much
I appreciate all he did for me. He has a very personable manner and I
felt completely at ease in all my dealings with him. Mr. English took
the time to make me feel like I was his most important client.
He belittled me as a minority woman &repeatedly bullied me. He exploited me legally by prolonging the legal process He refused my directives I was a a minority woman extend I lost my case and he "trusted" my property and assets which he took owner ship of and I still have NOT received my half of my assets from my white husband. Mr English Failed. He exploited me as a minority woman. I attempted to file CRIMINAL CHARGES. DA dismissed any interest. Attorneys NEVER answer to all LAWS US
