Betsy Brynn Black is a lawyer practicing family law. Betsy received a B.A. degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 1999, and has been licensed for 23 years. Betsy practices at North Idaho Family Law, PLLC in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
I worked with Betsy and her team from December 2023 to current, and every interaction has been respectful and helpful. I was confused about parts of the process, and they explained them to me clearly and patiently. The practice is run extremely well. From the first phone call, they have been responsive and gone above and beyond. I highly recommend them, they thoroughly examine all the many facets of each client’s situation, to find the very best outcome. One of the most important things to know about this practice is that they are compassionate, they really care about their clients.
Betsy took on my Guardian ad Litem case. She spent hours making prejudiced opinions, all the while wasting thousands of dollars on nothing. She lied to the children and tried to intimidate them into doing what she wanted. Forced kids into yet another counselor and tried to bully the counselor. She chose not to listen to the teenage children in anything they trusted to tell her (as that is her job). She charged more than double what the other, experienced GAL in town charges. Betsy spent more than a full work week writing a 100+ page report (with 60+ pages of cut and paste garbage) with nothing real in it at $350/hr. The end result she said was "more counseling". Then she took it a step further to push for a parental termination, after she spent the majority of funds for the kids not helping in any way. She stated a dozen times that safety was not a priority and when one party admitted drug use, that wasn’t a big deal. As a last resort I would never suggest using Betsy.
