Garton & Vogt, P.C. is a law firm established in 1988 with an office in Clinton Township, MI. At this office location, there are 2 lawyers practicing criminal defense, criminal law, drug cases / trafficking and 190 other areas of law.

I hired Kathy nearly three years ago to represent my son in his custody battle after another lawyer took over ten thousand dollars from us and did nothing. Kathy worked quickly and efficiently and we got the outcome we’d hoped for in only a few months. Kathy is very knowledgeable and has a great relationship with the Macomb County court system. I retained Arthur Garton to handle my case in 2020. For well over a year his performance, on my case, was nothing short of negligent. Weeks went by with phone calls and emails unanswered. Agreed upon timelines to have documents prepared, delivered or filed were grossly ignored. Court dates were constantly rescheduled for personal reasons. When I was finally able to nail him down for a meeting, I would be forced to regurgitate all the facts again because prior notes were lost or so much time had passed that Art simply forgot the 2–4-hour conversation we had in the prior meeting. Upon retaining him, I asked that I be given the opportunity to review documents submitted on my behalf for accuracy. The request was rarely adhered to, and when I did pull the document from the court, inadequate is an understatement. A first-year law student would have failed the class. To be continued...

I came to Kathy from a simple divorce. She when through her regular spiel. Said if my husband pass I get the house and if I pass he gets the condo . Well , the secretary wrote up the divorce creed. wrong and I did not proof read . Three years later, unfortunately my ex passed away. I was screed. She pretended to not have the notes of course. What a screw up .
Garton represented me in family court and his demeanor was unpleasant. Furthermore, he did not listen to my needs and he didn't do anything that I couldn't have done on my own. After this experience, I believe the minimal services he did on my behalf were not nearly close to what he charged me. I would not recommend him as he didn't do his job and also didn't file responses on time.
