About John Drizis

Attorney Johnny D. Drizis has lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1984. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, he moved to the Sunshine State after graduating from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois.

Being the son of Greek immigrant parents, he learned the necessity of hard work, the determination to succeed, and how to overcome adversity. His upbringing taught him the importance of family values and a strong work ethic, both of which he carries over into his practice of law.

Attorney Drizis notes that he is not only the owner of Divorce for Men, but is also a member. He formed Divorce for Men after his own divorce in 2001. He is now a divorced father who is happily part of a blended family. Because of his own experiences dealing with divorce, he understands the pain it can cause families.

That’s why he is here to provide the necessary counseling and support. As a former state prosecutor he participated in over 55 jury trials under his belt, he can protect the rights of you and your children.

Due to attorney Drizis’ divorce, he was financially forced to leave his position as Assistant State Attorney, for the Office of Bernie McCabe, where participated he was a Lead Trial Attorney and participated in over 50 jury trials. As a divorced father of two girls, Hali Ann and Demetra Marie he understands the pain of divorce, but also understand that there is life after divorce. He is remarried to Mary Beth and has added three more children to his life, Jen, Brandon and Zach, forming a new blended family. This personal and legal experience allows attorney Drizis to better understand his client’s wants and needs.

Upon leaving the State Attorney’s office he was on the Pasco County Felony Court Appointed list where he defended all types of cases. He is a member of the Florida Bar, U.S. Federal District Court, Middle District, Clearwater Bar Association, West Pasco Bar Association, and Past President of the Pinellas County Trial Lawyers and current mentor. He also attends Generation Christian Church, and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

This personal and legal experience allows attorney Drizis to better understand his client’s wants and needs.

I wish I hired Mr. Drizis years ago when I was divorced. I suffered for years because I simply didn't know how bad not using a lawyer could be. What Johnnie and Irene did for me was more than just a divorce case, it was a human safety net. They understood my emotional state and handled me with the kind of empathy that is lost in the legal world we live in. The law said I had to lose my home and without Johnnie and Irene that would've happened, but through careful navigating and negotiating Mr Drizis saved my home. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for what he did for me. In the end, Johnnie and Irene handed me my life back and brought me back from my emotional state of mind. Their words were my only saving grace as I was so depressed from almost losing my home. They are a blessing and I wish them and the entire staff well wishes. Johnny and his team took on my divorce case after try to do a Collaborative divorce with two outstanding women attorneys in Pasco county. After a year of trying to settle my divorce peacefully with my now ex- wife. Johnny took on my divorce case with open arms. He took me and explained to me what it was that I had to do to get this divorce done. We were up against a Money hungry attorney out of Tampa. They ran up over a 100,000. Dollar fee for my now ex- wife. He was very patient with them and me. After almost a year we finally settled and processed with the divorce. He had a lot of work to do, a lot of paperwork and a lot of explaining to my now ex- wife’s divorce attorney. His team was awesome. Thanks and God Bless Dre

Johnny is everything you want in an attorney fair and honest. He defended my rights as a father. He takes the time time to explain the law and what needs to be done.
