I settled my work comp case through Thomas Ledgerwood in Chico CA. I received lifetime medical coverage for my spine through the courts. Years later Work Comp just stopped paying any of my medical expenses. “Professional Risk Management” moved to Sacramento a few years back and changed their name. They stopped returning any of my calls and denied every claim that was submitted. I went back to Mr. Ledgerwood for help, and he stated there was nothing he could do although he got a portion of my settlement. I tried talking to his legal assistant but she would not return my calls. Now I see the attorney has an “involuntary removal” of his license. I’m having medical problems and cannot see a doctor because Work Comp will not pay, and Medicare won’t pay either since it should be paid by Work Comp. I feel let down by Mr. Ledgerwood, and hopeless and helpless.

States he will provide specific services and provide specific assistance, and maintain personal contact with the client. Then, he never contacts the client, nor returns phone calls, nor provide any written correspondence.

Hire Tom Ledgerwood to process SSDI claim and because much of disabilities were result of work comp injuries it was decided he would take on the ongoing open medical, perhaps pursue a settlement, but at least recover out-of-pocket expenses and help with appealing the continuous insurance denials for medical care. Was very happy with the handling of the SSDI claim having won. Work Comp case was quite opposite. Very unprofessional in that the firm appeared unorganized, non-responsive, and not reliable with communications. Perhaps because the office staff was shrinking thus my case was constantly being transferred to others. I personally began writing my own appeals (and winning them) because Ledgerwood could not produce. Appears the firm closed over a year ago. Disappoint that they did not have the consideration to notify clients of their closing.

Worst attorney ever!!! Called because I had received a very small settlement for my back injury and took medical for life and all my claims were getting denied. He got disbarred! He must have done ppl wrong?! Where is all our files? Why no notice of him closing?
