Waveland Law Group LLC is a law firm established in 2010 with an office in Chicago, IL. At this office location, there are 4 lawyers practicing construction and design law, civil litigation, securities litigation and 46 other areas of law.
I worked with John Walker and one of his associates. My experience was less than ideal. After having worked with large law firms on other matters, I wanted to try Waveland as a specialized boutique firm for a smaller personal matter as a test/trial. The goals and strategy discussed before engaging completely flipped once the retainer was burned through. Zero explanation. John went from being 'rough around the edges' to just plain rude and unpleasant. At a certain point, meetings were going in circles and had just become billing exercises. Once I started reviewing billable hours, I started finding charges for "reviewing" documents that had not even been skimmed, never mind read, and inflated call times (30 min vs 2 hrs). Recognizing the friction, the inflated billables, and having zero usable work product, I decided to end the engagement. Got a rude lecture from John on the way out, which only validated my choice. Save yourself the trouble and stick with a more reputable big-law firm.
