Kathryn Boyle is a senior associate at the WSHB’s Chicago office, where she focuses on complex litigation across commercial, tort, employment, and construction matters. Licensed in Illinois and Indiana - and admitted to practice in all federal districts in both states - Katie offers clients seamless coverage across a broad federal footprint without the need for additional local counsel. Katie also handles data breach and privacy class actions, incident response, and regulatory matters as a member of WSHB’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team.
Katie has expensive litigation experience spanning jury trials, class actions, evidentiary hearings, preliminary injunction hearings, depositions including expert witnesses and corporate representative witnesses, and oral arguments on dispositive motions. She also represents clients before state administrative agencies including the EEOC and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. She handles matters from inception through trial across Illinois and Indiana federal and state courts.
Before joining WSHB, Katie served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, where she defended state government agencies and employees in civil rights and correctional healthcare claims in federal court. She subsequently practices at a boutique civil litigation defense firm specializing in complex Section 1983 defense for municipalities and police departments.
She earned her J.D. from New England Law Boston, where she was a Dean’s List student and CALI Award recipient, and her B.A. from Ball State University. Outside of the office, Katie is an avid reader, traveler, and dedicated Chicago sports fan.
