Based in Chicago, Illinois, Jakubs - Wigoda, LLP is a legal practice devoted to assisting Cook, DuPage, Will, and Lake County residents in family law matters. Our attorneys offer caring, yet assertive representation to those facing divorce, and also handle custody litigation, including interstate litigation, paternity cases, and post-judgment matters. Understanding that our clients need support and compassion as well as sound legal advice, we maintain open lines of communication and provide individual attention at every stage of every case. While Jakubs - Wigoda, LLP is known as a trial firm, our goal is to do what is best and most cost-effective for our clients. Our attorneys are adept in mediation and arbitration as well as litigation, and never hesitate to explore every available option in order to achieve optimal results. We place a special emphasis on protecting the interests of children, and have extensive experience handling complex custody matters. Firm partner William S. Wigoda is a Certified Child Representative appointed by the Cook County Court system; his work in this capacity enhances our practice, as we understand how to handle even the most complicated issues with sensitivity and discretion.

A real child advocacy lawyer. This firm is very professional, responsive, and organized. My experience has been a positive one, and I highly recommend to anyone who wants an attorney that will take the time to show you your options, listen carefully, and will go the extra mile for you and your family. I urge anyone considering on using this law firm to think twice. I will be shouting from the rooftops on any public site I can to steer those looking for a GAL or any other family law related services from this business. William Wigoda is out to pad his wallet. How he is still in this business astounds me. Bottom line all he wants is his payment, not willing to work with his client. Suing them for money they can't afford and holding them in contempt of court. There are many other law services out there willing to look out for their clients and understand their financial struggles. PLEASE SHARE THE WORD, DO NOT USE THIS LAW SERVICE.

Hired Law Firm

Attorneys were not responsive to needs, did not listen to feedback from friends and those whom they interviewed. I was dismayed that they expected free input from friends while demanding pay for "work" while interviewing for an unreasonable amount of time with those friends.
The attorneys did not consider the statements regarding either party. I could not, in good conscience, recommend the services of this firm to those needing such legal aid.

Mr Wigoda is a crook. He lacks compassion. He is a bully and takes advantage of people in very vulnerable situations such as child custody cases. He will bleed you dry. Read the other reviews- they are fake - written by Mr Wigoda or his staff. I am writing this with the hope of preventing another person from being robbed by this law firm.

Hired Law Firm

I hired their firm to handle my divorce case. My attorney burned through my retainer and then withdrew because I was unresponsive to emails. John’s para legal was sending confidential information, legal and financial to the wrong email address. A person cannot respond to emails not received. His partner attorney sent me an email about not responding also. When I informed them of their mistake they took no accountability. I asked for a refund and was denied. Now my family’s information is out there for anyone. I strongly recommend everyone to avoid this firm!
