Alexander Passo represents clients on a variety of matters with a concentration on: internal business disputes, emergency business litigation, breaches of contract, fraud, and professional negligence. He has considerable experience drafting briefs in opposition and in support of dispositive motions— including recently drafting a brief that resulted in summary judgment for a real estate development client alleviating him of liability on a personal guaranty in excess of $100,000.00.Mr. Passo is a problem solver. Akin to the most notable historical Alexander, he enjoys solving the 21st century's version of the Gordian knot - complex business disputes. These types of legal controversies often contain a multitude of problems and he employs an analytical approach to solving them— first identifying his clients' objectives and then creating a strategy to achieve them. Mr. Passo takes great pride in assisting clients in resolving these types of disputes in an efficient and effective manner.He received a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, where he majored in history and law & society. Thereafter, he attended the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law where he graduated magna cum laude in 2014. Mr. Passo served as Editor-in-Chief of a law journal and argued in a national moot court competition. Additionally, while attending law school, Mr. Passo simultaneously worked part-time for the Patterson Law Firm, LLC, as well as another prominent Chicago trial law firm, and was an extern for the Honorable Elizabeth A. McClanahan of the Supreme Court of Virginia. He is originally from Northwest Indiana, and currently resides in Hyde Park. In his free time, he can be found pounding the pavement on a run, working on his golf game, or on a walk with his dog.Mr. Passo joined the Patterson Law Firm, LLC in July 2013. He has since co-authored an article entitled "Attorneys, the Internet, and Hate Speech: An Argument for an Amended Model Rule 8.4," published in the Seattle Journal for Social Justice, Volume 13, Issue 1, in Fall 2014.
