Hired Attorney James E. Skeen

Do NOT recommend. Retained by flat rate fee agreement Mr. James Skeen in 2020 for title exam and transfer on death deed (Todd). Skeen only spoke with me once by phone but never personally met with me. All following interactions were with Linda Johnson. Title exam was completed. A few weeks later, Johnson scheduled appt to review & endorse. Johnson presented an incomplete copy paper DRAFT Todd for tax map 36-a-59 and near zero vague legal description and with only a signature block (no other text) on the last page. I expected and asked to consult with Skeen but was denied. I declined to endorse a blank signature page on an incomplete draft and left. Shortly after, I received an email terminating retainer agreement. Requests for explanations remain unanswered. It took another month to receive refund. I later discovered Linda Johnson had major conflicts of interest on my real estate and ulterior motives and defended/slandered new with Skeen. Skeen should have fulfilled the contract.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness.
