About Mr. Marcus Samuel McGee

Sam McGee joined Tin Fulton Walker & Owen in 2013. A graduate of Wake Forest University, Yale Law School, and Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College, Sam began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Morris S. Arnold on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit in Little Rock, Arkansas. Following his clerkship, Sam returned to his home state of North Carolina and has been representing individuals and small businesses ever since.

Sam's practice has included many complex litigation matters in the areas of nursing home abuse and neglect, professional negligence, appeals, class actions, business torts and serious personal injury. Many of these matters have resulted in substantial recoveries, including multiple recoveries in excess of $1,000,000. On three occasions, Sam has obtained appellate rulings defeating the nursing home industry's efforts to compel residents' claims to binding arbitration. In 2011, Sam and his law partner obtained a $4,000,000.00 jury verdict for an entrepreneur that was defamed by a national bank. In 2012, Sam and his co-counsel obtained a jury verdict of over $500,000.00 for a car wreck plaintiff who was in jail at the time of the trial, and had 12 convictions that were admitted into evidence. A highly skilled trial lawyer, Sam is regularly called upon by other members of the bar to co-counsel high-stakes trials.

Sam has served as the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) Nursing Home Litigation Section Chair, a member of the NCAJ Board of Directors, and as a NCAJ amicus writer in a case that reversed a trial court's dismissal of a medical malpractice case based upon expert qualification issues. With the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Sam is a member of the Amicus Committee and conferences of trial lawyers organizations. Sam has also been published in AAJ's Trial magazine, and NCAJ's Trial Brief's magazine.

Prior to joining Tin Fulton Walker & Owen, Sam was a partner at Jackson & McGee in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Hired Attorney

Where do we begin. My husband (retired Air Force Veteran) and I hired Sam to represent us in a lawsuit against the Federal Government for a delayed diagnosis for our son Marcus when he was 5 1/2 months old. Sam was responsive, professional and just a great person to work with. He cares. I called him in 2015 to assist as the government doesn't want to pay for Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy for our son. We can't speak highly enough of him. Thank you Sam!
