Attorney Adam Marshall provided an excellent board orientation session for our newly elected directors. Mr. Marshall's review of the officers' roles and responsibilities, HOA governance, best practices, and requirements, as well as industry trends and recent legal opinions has given our board a solid understanding of the expectations that we, as volunteer homeowner leaders, should strive for and execute on as we oversee the business affairs of our HOA. Mr. Marshall, as was previously Mr. Jim Slaughter, is a highly valued partner to our homeowners association, and never fails to provide timely, expert counsel in a wide variety of HOA matters, ensuring that our board's actions and decisions are aligned to the situation's best outcome. Whether it is a "quick question to clarify..." or a delicate yet complicated situation, we put our trust and confidence in Mr. Marshall and Law Firm Carolinas in all areas of our business matters. Thank you!
They were professional, courteous and prompt. The staff was great to work within difficult situation. They kept me informed of all the situations happening. With Seller of my property that I purchase.
I had a closing in Virginia Beach while simultaneously closing in North Carolina and Holly Huffins, in particular, got everything to the finish line for me. She went above and beyond in the most caring, compassionate and understanding way and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you for being so amazing at what you do! Kind regards, Melissa A West
My husband and I had a great experience with Black, Slaughter & Black law firm when buying our home. Nicole was able to answer questions and address any concerns we had in a timely manner. Never made us feel like a burden, made us feel like she was eager to help in any way so our home buying process was smooth. The communication on what was needed from all parties were on point. This law firm and it's staff is professional, organized and precise. I would use this law firm again.
Jim served as a mediator in a highly contentious suit between homeowners and their HOA. The suit contained decades-old disputes and allegations. Jim was a superb mediator who genuinely cared about the outcome of this case. To say he was invested in helping the parties reach a compromise would be an understatement. I would recommend Jim as a mediator in the highest regard.
Jim is a talented communicator, who helps clients see the big picture. Hey helped our Board identify all our options so the we could formulate a game plan for action.
Jim provided excellent service with respect to a number of complicated organizational and real estate issues resulting from serious fire damage to a number of homes in a condominium association. In several cases we were dealing with problems that had no prior precedence. Jim was extremely thorough and all issues were resolved satisfactorily. I would highly recommend Jim.
Jim Slaughter has long served as the parliamentarian for our organizations biannual conventions. The conventions have about 3500 active delegates and procedural issues, along with attendant legal issues, often arise. Jim is extremely knowledgeable about Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised, and understands how to resolve issues consistent with ROR. Any organization in search of a parliamentarian would be well served by using his services.
