About Lionel S. Lofton

I have been practicing law for over 40 years.From 1971 to 1983 I served as the head of the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office, with the exception of a short period of time in 1975 when I served as Legal Advisor to South Carolina Governor JamesEdwards. Since going into private practice in 1983, Ihave devoted my practice to civil plaintiff's work includingserious automobile accidents, medical malpractice,nursing home negligence and workers compensation and also to the defense of those chargedwith white collar criminal violations. Iwas born and raised in McCellenville, South Carolina, a small fishing village near Charleston and still reside in McClellanville.
