Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer.Jacqueline Anthony was an excellent Guardian ad Litem for my children. We was very organized and asked all of the right questions. She was fair to both me and my ex-husband, but most importantly, she represented the best interest of my children very well. She went over and above to protect my children. I highly recommend her!
As a Guardian ad litem, Ms Anthony was not for the children. During the court case she ignored the fact that my ex had been evicted from his home but still agreed to 50/50 custody. I feel She was very bias to my ex as they are closer to the same age. She ignored previous GAL recommendations and was more about billing me for medical records that the Previous GAL already reviewed them actually seeing what’s best for my children.
Like some other reviews here, she was appointed as the GAL for our adoption case. She was uninterested in the child's well being and didn't meet her until 22 months after she was appointed and then only spoke to her for 5 minutes before filing her recommendation report. We spoke more about billing than anything to do with the child. She gets very defensive over any billing questions and takes advantage of self paying parents. She bills her full hourly rate of $250 or more for any travel including driving to Court or your home. We were billed almost $15,000 and she barely spoke to the child twice in 2 years. Poor attitude overall. She would be better suited for an area of law that doesn't involve families.
As a GAL Jacquline seems to only care about money. She almost never responded to emails with information so not sure if she even took it into account or looked at them. She was not at all thorough in her investigation and missed very important items. She submitted an incredibly long preliminary report with basically just information copied and pasted from each parent’s questionnaire and did very little actual research, yet she billed for MORE than the cap the judge had placed on her. She also called out a few “questions” she had in her report but she never brought up or asked those questions of the parties when speaking with them. The most responsive she ever was in email was asking for her money. If you have a choice, I would not recommend selecting her as a GAL in a custody case as she will do a poor job investigating but then generate a large useless report in order to justify a high bill.
As others have said- she’s after money and doesn’t care about families and the trauma divorce causes. She’s a bully and unprofessional and has a reputation in the community as such. Challenge her- she’ll crumble.
She was the GAL in my case. She claimed she did not know what a fee cap was and was extremely incompetent. She overlooked abuse and minimized every wrongdoing from the other party. She hid evidence of abuse and misled the court regarding therapy for the children. She is only concerned about money and does not care about the children. Do not hire this woman and if she is the GAL, have her removed. She is not fit.
Terrible Attorney. Only seemed to care about billable hours and not concerned about the client. She represented me and only fought for herself and legal fees from my ex husband. She did not argue for me as the client. She argued with her ego.
I do not recommend Ms. Anthony because I found her to be incompetent in the law and common sense. Ms. Anthony failed to follow statute requirements and set a fee cap just so that she could bill whatever she wanted. Ms. Anthony also misled the Court and failed to do anything in the best interest of the children. I believe that Ms. Anthony abused her power as a guardian ad litem. I would recommend that you look elsewhere.
