Eric S. Chovanec became an associate with Thomas, Mamer & Haughey, LLP in 2009. Prior to joining the firm full-time, Mr. Chovanec served as its law clerk. He concentrates his practice in the areas of workers' compensation and civil litigation. Additionally, Mr. Chovanec is the City Attorney in regards to ordinance violations for Villa Grove, Gibson City and the Village of Fisher.
A recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, Mr. Chovanec graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006 where he received a bachelor of science degree in natural resources and environmental sciences, as well as a minor in classical civilizations. He received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2009.
In addition to his practice of law, Mr. Chovanec, a long time Boy Scout, enjoys hunting, hiking and golf. He is also a volunteer for the judicial phase of Arcola High School's Youth in Student Government program as well as the Arcola High School girl's track program
