Laura J. Gorretta, Esq. was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1986 after completing her law degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She began her legal career in the litigation group at Jones Day in Cleveland, followed by a role as an attorney in the personal trust department at Ameritrust Company. Laura spent over six years working in the Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate practice section at Calfee Halter & Griswold in Cleveland before joining David E. Griffiths and Woodward & Griffiths in Chagrin Falls in 1999. After David Griffiths passed away in 2011, she opened her own practice.
Laura earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Hiram College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She also holds a master’s degree in History and Archives Administration from Case Western Reserve University. While her practice has expanded since becoming a "small town attorney," Laura continues to focus on estate planning, wills, trusts, and trust administration. She also gained experience in charitable giving as the Director of Gift Planning at Hiram College, and she provides legal counsel to nonprofit organizations.
