In a very simple real estate transaction both my husband and I were not pleased. It took 5 months longer than expected. I repeatedly requested for proof of insurance document before closing so our agent (and we) could review it BEFORE closing and never received it despite many requests. Ignored both my husband and myself. I have fired Doug and have been forced to find another attorney to finish this matter. He also is not allowed to defend his own work in court.Be warned.

Mr. McLaughlin took three years to close my father’s trust, which was a simple and straightforward trust that should have been concluded in a year. He allowed one co-trustee to withdraw personal bills from the trust estate checking account without any oversight or action. Moreover, he failed to require the replacement of the withdrawn funds into the trust. Additionally, he unnecessarily incurred costs by consulting with the accountant regarding a distribution plan that he never produced. His memory of conversations was either poor or he outright denied having them. To top it off, his figures on the final accounting were grossly inaccurate. In essence, he was completely incompetent. I would strongly advise against hiring him for any legal or financial matters.
