Lapping & Lapping is a law firm with an office in Carthage, NC. At this office location, there is 1 lawyer practicing criminal law, real estate, driving while intoxicated and 2 other areas of law.
This happened in 2005 when I first moved to NC. I had placed $10,000 down on 265 Gun Club Road, Village Acres, pinehurst 28374 to do a lease purchase. Sold my farm in KY my credit was damaged but I had paid it off. The reason for lease/purchase so I could build up credit to get mortgage. Got Lapping through Legal Aid. Lapping failed to watch out for me. There were several reasons my deal went south..the first & most traumatic was the police came and shot one of our dogs.Tang..brutally on our driveway while we were not at home..that would be me, a single parent, & my daughter. 2nd Expensive appraisals not accurate. 3rd a tree fell on the carport; damaged a lot of expensive clothes. 4th The seller/landlord was a difficult. Lost my $10K, deal not working & suddenly I had police all over the place & given 20 minutes to move out...thoroughly shocking..and Lapping knew what was brewing, didn't stop it or warn me. I suffer from PTSD. No recovery, still can't buy a house!
Unprofessional, uncaring and refused to correct his mistake. He blamed on another attorney, who blamed mistake on him. So basically I was up the creed without a paddle. Definitely does not look out for your best interest, says he is going to help and never calls you back or takes your calls again.
They made a mistake when preparing a builders loan for a house I was building with my daughter. When I discovered it he blamed the attorney who handled the regular mortgage after house was done. Lapping also handled a will for me. To sum it up he put everything in my daughters name except the builders loan. He never filed the deed to put the property in my name, so my daughter got all proceeds from sale. I was bankrupt and Lapping refused to do anything about it, or return my calls.
