I was a long time client of Ray Bules. I questioned his invoice because I didn't understand how the amount was derived. Instead of answering my question, he sent me a letter stating he was writing off the time and no longer representing me. I was shocked considering I was his client who has paid him faithfully since 2003.
Initial consultation with attorney recognized a 8000 to 12000 price tag for divorce. 5000 dollar retainer fee paid. Two and a half years later I'm divorced at a price tag of nearly 30,000 dollars including retainer. This was just a typical (blue collar worker) divorce. No real estate involved, no multiple bank accounts, stocks, bonds, mutual funds. No businesses to be divided. Just your run-of-the-mill divorce.
