About L. Craig Brown

There must be a law gene in Craig’s DNA. His father was a trial lawyer in London, Ontario for 46 years. Craig’s wife and two of his children are also lawyers. Craig has been a partner at Thomson Rogers for over 40 years pursuing justice for catastrophically injured clients.

Craig’s practice philosophy is to ensure that his clients have all the information they need to make informed decisions.

“Going to court involves risk and almost always costs more, he says. Although I love trials, I want to control that risk for my clients to ensure the best possible outcome for them.”

Craig has helped hundreds of clients achieve fair compensation for brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and other serious trauma. In two headline-making court battles, he won $3.5 million for a 16-year-old Fort Erie boy who suffered catastrophic head injuries after being thrown from a defective bicycle. In another widely reported case, he won $1.2 million for Jennifer Cowles of Cambridge who was mauled by a Siberian tiger while visiting African Lion Safari Game Park.

In the historic Indian Residential Schools case, Craig displayed his class action experience as one of the leaders of the cross-Canada 19-law firm consortium that achieved compensation for over 86,000 former Residential Schools students.

Craig is certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Ontario.

In addition, Craig is proud to be one of several plaintiff’s personal injury lawyers in Ontario recognized as an expert in personal injury litigation in every available peer-reviewed publication – in Lexpert®, The Best Lawyers™ in Canada, Martindale-Hubbell®, and as a partner at a Top 10 Personal Injury Law Firm in Ontario (according to Canadian Lawyer Magazine).

Craig is often asked to act as counsel to law firms across Canada wishing to use his trial experience to assist their clients in serious trauma cases.

Craig is the author of many articles on legal topics and frequently lectures to his peers in the legal profession.

When Craig takes a break from work, he loves to spend time with his two dachshunds, Maddie and Lex, and with his horses Ruby and Gaucho.

Craig is a past director of the Disabled Sailing Association of Ontario (DSAO) and of Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCIO). Both of these worthy organizations provide resources to assist persons with disabilities.
