John received an Honours B.A. in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, and his law degree from Dalhousie University. John is a founding partner of McLeish Orlando; his practice is devoted to representing individuals and their families who have suffered losses through a serious or catastrophic personal injury or death of a loved one.
John is the co-author of seven published books that deal with personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance law. One of his publications describes how to properly develop and build a winning case, while highlighting successful settlement, mediation, and trial techniques. John’s extensive knowledge about traumatic brain injuries is further exhibited in another publication that solely discusses this subject.
John is a past president of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, a past governor of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and a past director of the Ontario Brain Injury Association. He is certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Ontario, recognized in Lexpert® list of leading lawyers in Toronto as Most Frequently Recommended, and has been elected a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
