These attorneys are well and truly awful. They took my divorce and acted like they represented my ex. I had initially asked if any claims could be resolved on a Motion for Summary Judgment. They indicated none. Now that I look back over the Retainer Agreement and see that each day of trial is $2,750 it hits me that of course they wouldn't want any issues resolved prior so that the trial would go on ad infinitum. When it was time to pay the firm they were happy to provide the convenience of credit card. However, when the time came for the firm to return my money the convenience of credit card had vanished and they insisted to write a cheque. I asked for the check to be sent via a delivery method with a tracking number since I live in the US - again, no dice. So now, I've got to wait for snail mail to cross an international border and when I do receive my check there will be a 10-14 day hold since it is international. I found John to be on the outside quite charming but in the inside to be a closet racist who destroys families and who has absolutely no respect for integrity and ethics. In my view John is representative of a manipulative psychopath. If you have any regard for the phrase "Black Lives Matter" then I suggest you run away from this lawyer fast based upon how he destroyed the lives of one black family I know with complete impunity. John will smile in your face and engaging in deceitful and fraudulent behaviour.
John Summers who works with Bell Baker used unethical tactics to defend a wife abuser. These included facilitating two blocks against wellness checks supported by judges at the Ottawa Superior Court of Justice. This elderly black woman is now dead. Black lives matter, but to John Summers it appears that it doesn't.
Bell Baker lacks a basic respect for humans, period. I would say this law firm is as evil as it gets. They have no respect for ethics or the rule of law. They break up families as a result of their lies and deception.
What an awful law firm! They have caused me so much pain during the period when I am the most fragile. It is because of lawyers like those in Bell Baker LLP that lawyers have such a bad reputation. People call lawyers when they need help, and the lawyer that I hired in Bell Baker for a family case made the situation so much worse. Specifically, the family lawyer Nevada Fenton is terrible. She and her assistant Lisa Sills are incredibly irresponsible. Both the lawyer and her assistant did things like make an appointment with me and then not show up. While being actively hired for an active case, they ignored my emails for months, regardless of follow ups. Then, for one important meeting, Nevada scrambled at the last minute and showed up without having read the file. Like most people who need a lawyer, I was already fragile. So then I was sitting there, shaking, waiting for my meeting with the lawyer Nevada Fenton from Bell Baker, and she shows up an hour or two late!
