living in a small city, my family was aware of the Murphy family. I was involved in an auto accident which lead to a personal injury claim. for personal reasons, I wished to settle this claim fairly, and without delay. I expressed these wishes to Hugh Murphy and he honoured my direction while educating me with regards to reasonable exceptions and possible obstacles. the claim was settled completely to my satisfaction. mr Murphy acted with respect and honesty
I was the executor and a beneficiary of my father's relatively modest estate. There was a possibility of a problem with one of my siblings; another beneficiary. I felt it was a sensitive matter as things could have gotten contentious and I wanted to avoid that. Hugh suggested that we keep it simple and process the estate with the minimal paperwork and at the same time avoid any problems. He drafted letters for me to send to the beneficiaries which accomplished the same goal of settling matters informally and without going overboard with expense and legalese. And without raising any objections. Everything went off without a hitch and there were no problems. I was relieved. Hugh’s approach was commonsense and it worked. Thank you Hugh!
We were being forced to repay $48,700 to a car rental agency when we had an accident with the car we rented. Our insurance company refused to pay because they said we were not covered. We were university students and tried to find a lawyer to help us. No lawyer would speak to us or even return our calls. Except Hugh Murphy. He agreed to meet and got details from us then said he would see what he could do. He took our case. He had trouble with the insurance company as we did but he carried on. He showed them where they were wrong. After a lot of work, the insurance company agreed to pay. We were reimbursed the money we had already paid the rental agency, the insurance paid off the rental agency and they paid us a part of our legal fees. It was a complete success and we were relieved. Hugh was super to deal with. We could not have done it without him.
