I do not recommend this woman's services at all. She gave extremely poor representation in court, was unprepared and unaware of my circumstances even though I had spoken to her about them. She rushed me off the phone when I would call. The only thing she was good at was delivering my bill quickly.
Buyer beware.Folks do not use this law firm and get a second legal opinion.Please question all legal information obtained through Lamont Law Office regarding laws in Alberta.Laws in Alberta like anywhere are implemented,changed,modified as need be.And if your lawyer is incompetent and not aware of these changes you will not be properly represented both wasting your precious time and money.
My Best Friend had used Barb Lamont for his divorce and I must say that the professionalism, response time, compassion, determination, trust, reliability (I could go on and on) are just not there. He can send her an email and she might respond 3 - 4 weeks later. The responses he does receive are so vague and they almost read like she is working for his ex (in favor of) opposed looking out for his best interests....her own client. suggesting life insurance, property agreements favoring his ex, financials swayed one sided toward the ex - like WTF who is she really working for. She does not seem to have the determination to get the divorce finished, maybe she is looking to buy a new car, property or go on vacation and needs to ensure it is funded? I have gone through a divorce myself and I would have to say the the experience I had with a different lawyer was 100% different, better. I would NOT recommend Barbara to anyone who is looking for a good divorce lawyer.
I found Barb Lamont’s legal knowledge to be questionable at best. She did not return emails in a timely fashion. She also was extremely unprofessional. There is no way with 17 years experience in the legal world I would recommend this person for anything at all.
