In my experience with Mr. Cox I personally do not think he did anything at all except take sides with the Plaintiff. I do not know if this is because he was court appointed or what. I think I could have done a better job on my own. He didn't really do anything.
Approximately 7-8 years ago this Attorney handled my divorce. I can’t recommend him due to the negative effect his poor judgement in handling my case had on myself and my child. Mr Smoak refused to listen to me or grant my requests for my son in the divorce agreement. In his words, my requests were not needed in the agreement because “He (my ex husband) is a good man and will take care of his son”. My ex husband did everything I asked to be covered in the divorce agreement to hurt my son and more. It destroyed my son’s life not to have those things (health insurance, the vehicle he paid his father for etc) in that agreement. My son passed away 2 years ago at 28 years old. Do not trust this man with your future or the wellbeing of your children.
He lies and does care about others. Discriminates against others. Doesn’t have respect . Don’t waist your money nor your time …………………….. you will be very unhappy with the outcome……………….. xxxxxxxxxxz
I was a client involved in a real estate transaction that Mr Smoak had been hired to close. There were some last minute issues and during the discussion between the buyers and sellers and their agents I was about to ask him a question but all I got out of my mouth was "Why" when he turned to me and said "Would you just hush" very ugly. This was in front of all parties involved and all were so shocked and said that was totally uncalled for and would never use him again.
I went for an initial consultation and put down a retainer. He was supposed to find out several things and get back to me and never did. Contacted him via e-mail a few months later to have a partial release filled out and asked several questions. Again there was no response. He did call me back when I left a message that I wanted my retainer back. At that point he informed me that that money was used as a consultant fee even though he never answered any of my questions.
