Hired Attorney

Karen Muir acted as counsel for my former spouse in a family law matter. My experience with her involvement was concerning. There were repeated drafting errors, including numerous typos in affidavits and a significant error in a court order related to the sale of our jointly owned family home. Despite actively litigating for control over the sale and realtor selection, the final order—due to this error—gave him no role at all. When the mistake was discovered, counsel was unavailable for weeks, forcing a concession. She also took inaccurate positions, including asserting for months that child support was not owed, despite it later being ordered by the court. Although she presents herself as collaborative, settlement proposals were routinely rejected, escalating conflict and costs. Ultimately, after thousands of dollars in legal fees, the only result was listing the home about 45 days earlier than we had already agreed to. Her paychecks led to less groceries for my kids. Unethical!

Hired Attorney

Hahaha if you are researching this, you already know. She only cares about her invoices to you. She knows nothing about the law and loses more than she gives a shot about the nuances of your case. This is a lawyer you wish your counterparty hired bahahhaha completely useless and a waste of money. You would be better off recommending this lawyer to your ex!!!! She would be happy to bill you for every correspondence and then take vacation during your process.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
