Bruce N. Furukawa is a Partner in the Design Professionals Defense & Counseling Group, primarily representing and counseling architects and engineers. He has represented design professionals, contractors, and owners in a wide range of projects including municipal works, transportation projects, commercial high-rises, waste-water treatment plants, wetland development, and residential projects. As an experienced trial attorney, Mr. Furukawa has litigated complex construction delay and cost claims, construction defect, land use and personal injury lawsuits.
Mr. Furukawa has special expertise in legal technology. He supervises effective and efficient collection, review, and production of electronic documents for leading design, banking, healthcare, and real estate firms. By applying best practice methodologies and protocols, Mr. Furukawa bridges IT and Legal Department communication gaps to streamline processes and save time and money. Mr. Furukawa has managed large review teams for class action lawsuits in employment, mortgage banking, and securities cases. He has extensive experience working with e-discovery vendors and implements programs for enterprise system development, collection, computer forensic projects, early case assessment tools, outsource review, data processing, conceptual analytics, and automated coding programs. Mr. Furukawa lectures on e-discovery and innovative technology to industry groups and bar associations, and consults with clients on ESI best practices.
