If you want a lawyer who is good, thorough, concise, respects your budget, choose Gelb & Black. Understand upfront, their email responses are very short and sweet. There is minimal contact, until absolutely needed. Once it is needed they are quick to respond, thorough and get the job done. I like to perform all of my own research and writing of affidavits/andwers and gathering Exhibits. They then review it for legality, make edits, and put on all the finishing touches.

This law firm was requested from Legal Shield, a sourced branch of attorneys upon telling Gelb my case he never got back to me and gave excuses as to why he had not reached me yet when I finally spoke to him, he made me feel like I was nothing belittling me and telling me what I should have done years ago However not trying to help generally people look to attorneys because they know something is not right and they need help so to make a person feel littler than they already feel is not worth the time or the effort. Attorneys have a bad rep and Gelb would be part of that list I will let Legal Shield know this is not a recommended attorney. There’s no compassion or understanding mind you living in Colorado. Things are hard to take care of in New York City so I am pretty much screwed if I don’t get an attorney I think he knew that.

Don’t waste your time and money with this Firm there the worst they have me going Back and forth to court with no knowledge of criminal law they got another lawyer from another firm to look about my case I told him to get in contact with the D.A Mr Black don’t wanna do that the judge asked did he know wat the offer was that they had for me he didn’t know that neither he not doing his job and just keep having my going to court instead of defending me they care about the money not the clients and Mr Blak is very rude

I hired gelb and black for a tenant eviction. On emailing a question, I found the response to be less than definitive ( "I believe you can enter the apartment", rather than stating whether I could or could not enter). When I called on the telephone to discuss a new development with the tenant, Mr Gelb told me the case did not sound familiar and that Mr Black must be my attorney. This, despite my initial confirmation email being from Mr Gelb. On 8/23/24 I sent an email to Mr Gelb. It is now 12 days (8 business days) later, and I have not had the courtesy of a response. The tenant has left by other means, so I am spared having to hire other attorneys.

I was recommended to check out this law firm by a friend and I received no response from them whatsoever, which was quite disappointing. Therefore, I would not recommend this firm to anyone who might be looking.
