Ellen focuses her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and elder law as she assists her clients in meeting their estate planning goals and protecting their assets for their loved ones.
Ellen has significant experience in navigating the complicated long-term care system and preparing for and filing Medicaid long-term care applications. She regularly works with clients who are able to plan for asset preservation, as well as those who must act immediately to access public benefits systems.
Ellen represents and counsels fiduciaries in the administration of inter vivos and testamentary trusts, and estates. She regularly appears in the Connecticut Probate Courts on behalf of her clients. She frequently works with clients in advising and preparing estate and incapacity planning documents to meet her clients’ unique and specific needs and goals.
Ellen is a member of the National and Connecticut Chapters of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Fairfield County Bar Association, and Connecticut Bar Association. She is currently participating in the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) New England Fellows Program (NEFI). ACTEC is a national organization of lawyers elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence, and experience as trust and estate counselors. Ellen’s regular participation in continuing education allows her to stay apprised of the latest changes in the law and new strategies to continue helping her clients.
In recognition of her achievements, she has been named to Best Lawyers in America ®, “Ones to Watch,” for Elder Law from 2022-2024 and recognized as a “Rising Star” by Connecticut Super Lawyers in 2023.
Ellen is based in the firm's Bridgeport office but meets with her clients in the firm’s Danbury and Westport offices as well.
