She serves on the Commission's Mental Health task force and is liaison from the COI to the ABA Commission on Youth at Risk. Ms. Fiflis also sits as Co-Chair of the Immigration Section of the ABA Criminal Justice Section. Additionally, as a member of the ABA General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division's Pro Bono and Public Service Committee, she moderated and assisted in organizing a pro-bono training for representation of unaccompanied immigrant minors at the ABA National GP, Solo and Small Firm Conference in Denver, Colorado, in October 2011. Ms. Fiflis received her B.A. from Scripps College, Claremont, California in 1978 and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C., in 1981. Previously, Ms. Fiflis was as an adjunct instructor of Immigration and Citizenship Law at the University of Colorado Law School. Ms. Fiflis worked with the ABA Commission on Immigration to plan a CLE panel on the standards of medical care for immigration detainees, which attracted the attendance of a high-level Department of Homeland Security appointee, and has testified before Congress on behalf of the ABA on immigration detention issues. She has served as a pro bono mentor for the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN) and has co-authored several publications, including ""Introduction to Immigration Issues for Non-Immigration Lawyers"" for the Boulder County Bar Association Newsletter as the first in a series of immigration-related articles for that publication. She is a frequent panelist for CLE immigration programs, recently presenting in Denver, Colorado, on ""Worksite Compliance & Employment Eligibility Verification"" and as a panelist at the ABA Criminal Justice Section program ""The Postville Raids and Agri-Processors Case: Internal Investigations, Criminal Prosecutions and Immigration Consequences"" at the ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto in August 2011.
