Victoria Goetz Berlyand is a partner at Sloane and Walsh, whose practice concentrates on professional liability defense litigation, namely medical malpractice defense litigation, in both state and federal courts. Ms. Goetz Berlyand also practices in the general area of civil litigation, including complex litigation matters and appellate issues. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of Rhode Island, and the first Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining Sloane and Walsh, Ms. Goetz Berlyand served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General in the Government Litigation Unit. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston College, and her Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. During law school, Ms. Goetz Berlyand was selected as a member of the European Union Moot Court Team and competed internationally in moot court. Additionally, Ms. Goetz Berlyand worked as legal intern for Judge Dennis J. Curran, completed a year-long externship in the Trial Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and worked as a Summer Law Clerk at a medical malpractice law firm in Boston.
