Mr. McDonough is a graduate of Harvard College and Suffolk University Law School. He is a senior partner at Sloane and Walsh, having joined the firm in 1988.
Mr. McDonough is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association.
Mr. McDonough concentrates his practice in the defense of clients engaged in litigation before state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. The focus of his practice is the defense of complex litigation matters including insurance coverage and fair claims handling act litigation, class actions, professional malpractice, construction, product liability disputes, and argument of appellate cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
Mr. McDonough has participated as a speaker, panelist, and faculty member for various continuing legal education programs for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc., and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association, and has presented seminars concerning fair claims handling practices and other insurance-related matters for various insurers.
