Mr. Heffernan is a 2007 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where he was executive editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics, and a cum laude graduate of Boston University. He is proficient in written and spoken Mandarin.
Areas of Practice · Finance and Restructuring Representative Matters · Representing one of the largest commercial banks in the U.S. in mortgage litigation matters including issues involving condominium liens, consumer bankruptcy and foreclosure. · Represented a regional credit union in work outs and creditor side representation in consumer bankruptcies concerning borrower defaults on consumer credit cards, auto loans and residential mortgages. · Represented various local banks in Massachusetts concerning consumer credit card defaults, residential mortgage foreclosures, repossession of collateral and creditor representation in consumer bankruptcies. · Represented JCG Foods, an affiliate of Koch Foods, in winning an auction in connection with an $80 million sale under section 363 of the bankruptcy code, obtaining bankruptcy court approval of the sale and entering into an Asset Purchase Agreement. · Represented condo associations throughout Massachusetts in collection of condo fees and issues involving the condominium lien law and special assessments.
