Subsequently, he served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office before assuming the position of contract City Prosecutor for the City of Eagle, Idaho. Admitted to practice law in the State of Idaho, Steve established his private practice in January 2009, where he continues to provide exemplary legal representation to his clients.

His dedication to the legal field extends beyond the courtroom, evident in his scholarly contributions. Notably, Steve's work titled "Square Pegs, Round Hole: The Fourth Amendment and Preflight Searches" was published in the BYU Law Review.
