Yoshimi O. Smith has over 11 years of experience in the area of estate and trust planning and probate. She focuses her practice on estate and asset planning, estate and trust administration, and asset protection.
Yoshimi O. Smith graduated from Hofstra University Law School in 1998. Yoshi worked with the prominent law firm of Rivkin Radler in Hempstead, New York where she advised high net worth individuals and families with respect to estate, income, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxation, business succession planning and asset protection. She provided sophisticated transfer, income and generation-skipping transfer tax strategies to individuals and advises closely held corporations, partnerships and other business entities on succession and asset protection planning structures. In 2005 Yoshi moved to Florida and joined the boutique firm of Miller & O'Neill and thereafter continued her practice in the area of estate and trust planning, asset protection and probate at Duane Morris. In 2009, Yoshi joined Amy B. Beller and together they formed the law firm of Beller Smith, P.L.
Yoshi has been named Top Up & Comer in South Florida by South Florida Legal Guide in 2009, Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers in 2009, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who of American Women. She is the current chair of the probate committee for the South Palm Beach County Bar Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Morikami. Yoshi has also spoken and written on various topics for the Florida Legal Education Association, Attorney/Trust Officer Liaison Conference and local charities.
Having been born in Havana, Cuba, Yoshi speaks fluent Spanish. She resides in Boca Raton, Florida, is the wife of Edward F. Smith, III and has two stepchildren.
