With a distinguished academic and professional background, attorney Richard Stites commenced his career with a bachelor's degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois, majoring in economics and finance and minoring in psychology. His academic excellence earned himself membership in several honorary fraternities, including Phi Beta Kappa. He also received the highest departmental distinction from the Finance Department. Pursuing law, Richard graduated magna cum laude from Indiana University School of Law, where he served as the Administrative Editor for the Indiana Law Journal and interned for the Honorable S. Hugh Dillin.
Richard began his legal journey at Livingston, Barger, Brandt, Slater & Schroeder, becoming a partner by 1985. As Managing Partner, he played a vital role in the firm's expansion across Illinois. Afterward, Richard founded Legal Resources PLLC, focusing on civil defense litigation, business planning, risk management, medical malpractice, and defense litigation. His unique skills are sought after within the legal community, and he has acted as counsel for National Security Events and developed legal frameworks for state agencies. With experience handling over 800 cases in state and federal courts, Richard has also served as corporate counsel, emphasizing business law, consultation, and complex litigation.
