Jesse is an attorney in our Bismarck office currently practicing general civil and criminal litigation. He has successfully obtained favorable jury verdicts and appeals in State and Federal Courts. Prior to joining Vogel, Jesse served as a full time Judge Advocate to the Colorado Army National Guard, where he gained substantial experience in administrative law, criminal law, contract and fiscal law, employment and military personnel law, international and operational law. Jesse also served on the board of directors for the Education Foundation.
Jesse graduated cum laude from the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he received the Lillian Elsinga Outstanding Student Leader Award. While in law school, Jesse served as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Following law school, Jesse was awarded a two-year Presidential Management Fellowship, with a concentration on labor and employment law. Jesse completed his fellowship working for the Department of the Interior in Denver, Colorado, where he represented and advised management in labor and employment disputes.
Jesse retired from the North Dakota Army National Guard after 21 years of service as a Judge Advocate. During his military career, Jesse had the great privilege of serving his country in Iraq, Kuwait, Kosovo, Germany, Jordan, and Guantanamo Bay.
Jesse and his wife Mika enjoy spending their time doting over their children. In his spare time, Jesse can be found camping, cooking, or playing the guitar.
