In 2018, a local ex-con faked a complaint that led to my false arrest. I hired Paul Battisti, who smiled and told me his friendship with the arresting troopers would help. But Battisti failed to disclose his plan to run for District Attorney, and dragged what should have been a quick dismissal into months of excuses and lies, even claiming the DA refused to dismiss a misdemeanor because it could "look bad" for them at my attacker's Attempted Murder trial. Battisti then used my family's tragedy in his political campaign, after I ordered him to stop. And when the false arrest was dismissed --- not due to Battisti's effort -- he tried to hide it. I learned about it from the DA, a month later. Battisti played dumb when prodded for case updates, but lied because I planned to sue his trooper pals for false arrest. In New York a litigant has but 90 days post-dismissal to serve the State a Notice of Claim. Battisti tried to erode my 90 days, but failed. Grievances are being filed vs Battisti.
