Candice joined Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP in 2025 as Special Counsel and practices in Labor & Employment Law. She graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law with her J.D. and holds an M.B.A. from Binghamton University, where she completed dual concentrations in Supply Chain Management and Leadership & Consulting.
She has more than a decade of experience advising senior leaders and HR professionals on a wide range of employment and labor law matters, including workplace policies and procedures, reasonable accommodations, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Candice has a strong record of success managing complex employment disputes and class-action litigation, while partnering closely with clients to ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
Prior to joining the Coughlin & Gerhart, Candice served in senior attorney roles with the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, in both Dallas, TX and Washington, DC. As Supervisory Senior Attorney in the Employment & Labor Law Branch, she led a legal team defending the agency in nationwide employment disputes, including EEO class actions, portal-to-portal labor disputes and counseled management across 125 federal facilities on regulatory compliance and labor relations.
Candice is actively engaged in community and leadership initiatives, serving as a certified mediator and Guardian ad Litem for the DC Volunteer Legal Project. She is also involved with several professional and volunteer organizations, reflecting her continued commitment to service, advocacy, and the advancement of fair and effective workplaces.
