Travis Corby’s litigation practice focuses on all areas of insurance bad faith law, health care litigation, business litigation, elder abuse, and personal injury litigation.
Mr. Corby specializes in all areas of health care law, including “medical necessity” or “experimental and investigational” treatment denials; under reimbursement disputes; and authorization disputes. He also specializes in fighting insurance recessions in the areas of life, health, property, and auto. His practice also focuses on life, disability, and property insurance denials, as well as senior annuity fraud and other types of finical elder abuses.
Since joining the firm, Mr. Corby has co-counseled a number of high-profile verdicts and settlements, including:
Obtaining a $19 million verdict against Stonebridge Life Insurance Company for its unlawful medical necessity peer reviews. (Nickerson v. Stonebridge Life Insurance Company)
Achieving a $3.7 million arbitration award against Travelers’ Indemnity Company of Connecticut for its use of a policy provision that was found to violate California law. (Mave Enterprises, Inc. v. Travelers Indemnity Company of Connecticut )
Recovering on behalf of 92-year old victim of a Veterans’ pension senior annuity scam against ELCO Life and Annuity Company. In addition to the monetary settlement, ELCO stopped selling annuities in California as a result of the lawsuit. (Brown v. ELCO Life and Annuity Company)
