In my experience, he failed to properly file my out-of-state child-custody order with the Deschutes County Court and instead attached it as an exhibit. Communication and billing practices during my case were troubling — my trust account balance dropped unexpectedly, and when I raised concerns, Mr. Hattaway withdrew from representation. Afterward, I learned that Mr. Hattaway was publicly disciplined by the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board in 2024 for neglecting a client’s case, failing to communicate, and practicing law while ineligible. The Board found that his misconduct caused nearly $90,000 in damages to a client, and it imposed a 60-day suspension (fully deferred).
