“I filled out the questionnaire on the Oregon Fresh Start website. Much to my surprise I actually got a call from Dale Smith who explained everything to me and was very compassionate to our situation. It was obvious when we met with the trustee that Dale is respected and the kind of lawyer you want on your side. If you are considering bankruptcy Dale Smith is the right lawyer to call. He and his staff have been excellent to deal with.”
It took a long time from start to finish - about 1 year from initial contact until final decision. It is my feeling that perhaps he thought I knew more about the process than I did. I needed more step by step guidance. I think that is why it took so long.
He is very diligent in getting my case petioned and did not worry about being paid in full to do so. Communication & responsiveness rated at #4 due to being quite busy with a number of bankrupcty clients. He always answers any questions I have/had throughout the paperwork process. All communication and paperwork is done online as he is in Hermiston, OR and I am in Portland. I find this quite convienient. Looking forward to my hearing early December.
Sometimes it took a long time to hear back from him. I started a bankruptcy petition in July, 2009 and it didn't get filed until June, 2010.
I was completely disgusted with his lack of counseling. He offered no preparation for court, no advice on how to handle assets and he cost me more money than he was worth.
